In Tacoma Film Camp, students work in small film crews, supported by a filmmaker mentor.

Together, they develop and create a complete short film in just one week, presenting their finished work to family and friends!

The mission of The Grand Cinema's education programming is to grow and nurture the agency, critical thinking, technical skills, and expression of filmmakers, with a guiding focus to serve young, underserved emerging artists.

For the third year in a row, we are taking Film Camp out of the theater and into the community. We are providing a FREE camp for students in the neighborhood, courtesy of Tacoma Creates and The Grand Cinema.

These opportunities connect youth ages 11-15 with the art of film as a means to think critically and tell their own stories. Participants develop 21st Century Skills such as leadership, collaboration, and technological and technical skills.

Hilltop Film Camp 2024 will take place July 7-11 at the People's Community Center
1602 M.L.K. Jr Way, Tacoma, WA
